Job summary

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a reliable 1099 contractor to cover emergency courier shifts in the Denver metro and Colorado Springs area. Shifts typically run evenings to overnight, starting at 3:00 p.m. and ending between 10:00 p.m. and 1 a.m.

in multi-state time zones. The role focuses on timely delivery of medical specimens, vehicle upkeep, safety compliance, and strong communication with dispatch and clients. Prior driving experience and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Personal liability auto insurance.
Active smartphone with adequate data plan.
Flexibility to work on short notice for emergency coverage.
Minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to operate a vehicle for long periods and night driving.
Time zone awareness across multiple U.S. time zones.

Responsibilities

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of medical specimens to designated destinations during emergency coverage.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle; report maintenance issues.
Adhere to safety regulations while operating vehicle and handling specimens.
Coordinate pickups, deliveries and special instructions with dispatch and clients.
Handle specimens with care, ensuring proper labeling and storage during transport.
Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
Assist with loading and unloading specimens and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries using company tools.
Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot daily operations.
