Job summary

Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Phoenix, AZ seeks a reliable 1099 contractor for emergency courier coverage. The role delivers medical specimens and equipment, maintaining vehicle safety and proper handling during shifts typically 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

as needed. A current driver's license, clean driving record, and 2+ years of driving experience are required. The contractor will use routing software, keep accurate records, and ensure excellent customer service while coordinating with dispatch

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Personal auto insurance (no extra coverage needed for company vehicle).
• Clean driving record.
• Active smartphone with data plan.
• Flexibility for emergency coverage.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Comfort driving long periods.
• Familiarity with routing software and GPS.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of medical specimens per emergency coverage needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicle; report issues.
• Adhere to safety regulations while operating vehicle and handling specimens.
• Communicate with dispatch, clients, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
• Handle specimens with care; proper labeling, packaging and storage during transport.
• Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries.
• Assist with loading and unloading specimens and equipment; follow lifting procedures.
• Maintain records of pickups, deliveries, and activities in software or paper.
