Job summary

Sonoco Products Company seeks an experienced maintenance technician to sustain and repair plant equipment, including high-speed packaging machinery and material handling systems. You will use shop tools, read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and perform troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

The role requires knowledge of industrial electrical/PLC, welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), and general maintenance practices. Candidates should be able to work 2nd shift (training possible) and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent diploma required; secondary diploma acceptable with related experience.
• Experience with industrial electrical/PLC and robot control is essential.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG and ARC welding and general machine shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facility equipment, production lines and building systems.
• Read blueprints and read wiring diagrams; fabricate or repair parts as needed.
