Job summary

Viking Group, Inc. in Hastings, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for installing and leveling new equipment, and setting up pneumatic and hydraulic energy sources for relocated systems.

You will diagnose malfunctions with maintenance staff and Engineering, replace faulty components, and ensure all guards and interlocks are correctly in place while following strict lock-out safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Installs and/or assists the installation and leveling of all new and relocated equipment.
• Installs pneumatic and hydraulic energy sources for newly installed and relocated equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other Maintenance staff and Engineering to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces and repairs faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, including solenoids, actuators, ballscrews, pumps, air motors, packaging equipment, air cylinders, fixtures, robots, chucks, clutches, brakes, belts, bearings, conveyors and feeders.
• Assures that all equipment is safe and all guards and interlocks are in place.
• Follows all safety and lock-out procedures.
