Job summary

Viking in Hastings, MI is seeking a skilled Machine Repair technician to install, level, and relocate equipment, and to ensure safe operation of all systems. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and federally issued Journeyman certification.

You will diagnose equipment, replace mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic parts, and follow lock-out safety procedures to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Federally issued Journeyman certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs and/or assists the installation and leveling of all new and relocated equipment.
• Installs pneumatic and hydraulic energy sources for newly installed and relocated equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance staff and engineering to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces and repairs faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, including solenoids, actuators, ballscrews, pumps, air motors, packaging equipment, air cylinders, fixtures, robots, chucks, clutches, brakes, belts, bearings, conveyors and feeders.
• Ensures equipment is safe and guards and interlocks are in place.
• Follows all safety and lock-out procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
