Job summary

Northern Kane County Chamber is seeking a Machine Operator in Carpentersville, IL. The role operates and maintains high-speed production equipment, ensuring quality and safety while meeting production standards.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–10:30 PM with a pay rate of $18.00–$19.00 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities include setting up and running machines, inspecting parts with calipers and micrometers, and assisting with workflow and material movement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training is a plus.
• 1–3 years of machine operating experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production setting preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate high-speed production and press machinery according to job specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and inspect finished products using calipers and micrometers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist in managing workflow by supporting production operations and material movement throughout the plant.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, and clear equipment jams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production logs, track material usage, and follow all safety regulations while keeping a clean work environment.
