Exploreelginarea is seeking a Heavy Machine Operator for 1st shift in Carpentersville, IL. The role pays $18.00 per hour on an evaluation hire basis, with responsibilities to set up fixtures and operate bending, forming and balancing equipment while maintaining productivity, quality and safety.

The operator will perform first-piece inspections, read shop orders and drawings, and monitor equipment, ensuring parts meet specifications. Able to lift 50 lbs and sustain long periods of standing.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 months of experience operating manufacturing equipment, tooling, and inspection instruments.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Experience reading shop orders, drawings, and using measuring and gauging equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform heavy physical work.
• English-speaking ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery used for bending, forming, and balancing operations.
• Perform first-piece inspections, record measurements, and verify parts against drawings and shop orders.
• Monitor equipment during production runs and inspect parts for defects or tooling issues.
• Use micrometers, scales, and fixed gauges to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow all safety procedures and report equipment malfunctions or die issues to the appropriate personnel.
