Job summary

BOSS Snowplow in Iron Mountain, MI is seeking a skilled machinist to operate various metalworking machines and support the production of snow plow components. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and ensure parts meet specifications in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities include operating shear, saw, laser/c plasma cutting, bending and finishing parts; performing routine machine maintenance; and contributing to quality inspections to maintain high craftsmanship and on-time

Qualifications

• Vocational training or previous experience in a machine operating setting is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to use measuring tools and devices.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Shear, saw, laser cut, plasma cut, bend, roll, drill, tap, punch, cope, wire brush, de-burr, and grind steel plate, sheet and structural shapes as required by the Employer.
• Form, cut, bend, punch, and drill copper bus as required by the Employer.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning as required on each machine as defined by the Employer.
• Perform first article and other piece part inspections as required by the Quality System defined by the Employer
