Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of large animal handling experience.
  • 1-3 years of equine experience depending on level.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general patient care including grooming, daily stall cleaning and disinfecting, feeding and watering, walking, standing wraps, and stocking clinical areas.
  • Horse handling and restraint for procedures, medical exams and surgery, hydrotherapy, and additional animal husbandry duties as assigned.
  • Maintain patient treatment areas and equipment after procedures and assist with housekeeping or grounds tasks as needed.
  • Document stall cleaning status and follow Biosecurity protocols.
  • Transport bedding and feed to patient areas; operate forklifts, tractors and trucks as required.
  • Collaborate with the clinical care team and assist with admission/discharge of patients.
