Job summary

Eurofins USA Clinical Trial Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform tests and analyses under supervision, handling specimen management, pipetting, instrument operation, data entry, and specimen storage while following SOPs.

Position is full-time with a Tuesday–Saturday shift in Lenexa, KS. Requires a BS/BA in Biological, Physical, or Chemical Science and experience with data entry or lab work. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Biological, Physical, or Chemical Science
• OR BS or BA in related science fields with 16 hours in Biology, 16 hours in Chemistry and 3 hours of Mathematics
• Minimum 1 year data entry experience preferred
• Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred
• Experience or training in handling potentially infectious human blood/bodily fluids preferred
• Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
• Skills required for aseptic techniques
• Intermediate proficiency with PC-based software programs
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs and company policies
• Evening and weekend hours may be required
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Examine samples for validity and other requirements (sample type, volume)
• Perform sample preparation steps with high accuracy and precision
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment per SOPs
• Prepare reagents and materials for testing
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and reagents
• Document remedial action, troubleshooting, quality assurance activities and instrument maintenance
• Adhere to processing timelines
• Enter data into LIMS
• Label samples and deliver to proper areas
• Retrieve and re-file samples for testing
• Store specimens properly for short- and long-term storage
• Assist with cleaning duties in the lab
• Adhere to quality and safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Communicate with lab colleagues to complete daily tasks
• Represent department and the organization per company standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
