Job summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit is seeking a Laboratory and Clinical Technician to support patient care in the evening shift. You will process specimens, perform basic testing workflows, and ensure accurate specimen handling in a fast-paced lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of healthcare training or related experience.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes incoming specimens; processes patient specimens in accordance with department safety and OSHA guidelines.
• May draw blood samples from patients based on physicians order and in accordance with departmental safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Generates and attaches labels to specimen/blood samples and performs processing as required.
• Ensures specimen integrity by verifying patient identification and appropriate samples for requested tests.
• Enters and reviews laboratory data in the system; identifies and corrects errors per policy.

Skills

Six months healthcare experience

Customer service experience

Phlebotomy Certification preferred

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred
