Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a qualified medical technologist to perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing in the Microbiology division. You will operate advanced clinical instruments, verify results, and collaborate with physicians on result interpretation.

The role requires independence, strong communication with healthcare professionals, and participation in quality control and continuing education. Onsite work in a hospital-affiliated laboratory with patient-focused services.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited institution.
• Certification by a recognized certifying agency preferred (ASCP, ASMT, NCA, etc).

Responsibilities

• Performs high/moderate/waived laboratory testing in the assigned division using advanced instrumentation.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions; records troubleshooting.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and reports results independently to physicians.
• Conducts quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Provides orientation and training to new employees/students.
• Prepares and/or collects specimens for analysis.
• Participates in CSI and continuing education programs.
