Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Mobile Infirmary Emergency team in Saraland, Alabama. The position schedule is Saturday through Tuesday, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with possible additional weekday coverage as needed.

Required is an Associate's degree in a chemical or biological science, with preferred experience in a high-volume lab. Certification such as ASCP/AMT is a plus, and strong computer and LIS skills will help ensure accurate, timely results.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a chemical or biological science, CLIA standard.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing per SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents or controls.
• Report accurate results to support patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control.
