Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Lab Supervisor for the Evening Shift. The role oversees the Core Lab, supervising staff and directing departmental workflow from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

The position requires 4–6 years of full-time medical technologist experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (or related), and preferred ASCP certification. Strong leadership and LIS proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Four to six years full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology (Required).
• ASCP Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities of the department, distribute/assign work, determine priorities, schedule non-routine procedures.
• Perform supervisory functions for their assigned staff including interviewing, hiring, training and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
• Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques. May duplicate work of others to confirm test results. Re-evaluate methodology, make recommended changes and assists in test interpretation.
• Check/approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
• Initiate quality-control measures and monitor quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.
• Perform duties of technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload.
• Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
• Adheres to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety requirements.
