Job summary

SGS is seeking a Sample Management Technician for seasonal opportunities in New Jersey. The role involves receiving, labeling, and routing samples in a fast-paced lab environment, with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Shift options include evening and overnight schedules with differential pay. Responsibilities include documenting incoming materials, tracking temperatures, preparing shipments, and maintaining compliant records using LIMS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree strongly preferred.
• Experience in an environmental laboratory is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Strong English, math, and reasoning skills.
• Comfort with digital systems and computers.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unpack sample containers and document items promptly.
• Verify and record sample temperatures on receipt.
• Perform preservation checks on aqueous samples.
• Create jobs, enter bottle records, and generate labels using LIMS.
• Label containers and maintain correct identification throughout workflow.
• Transport samples between reception, storage, and lab areas.
• Prepare and ship sample coolers and packages.
• Assemble client bottle kits with accuracy.
• Maintain compliant documentation.
• Notify Client Services and lab teams of sample details.
• Follow SOPs and safety procedures.
• Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
