Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Laboratory Assistant certification and phlebotomy certification preferred.
• 1 year of medical laboratory assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents the laboratory with integrity and upholds the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Verifies accuracy of patient and specimen information.
• Examines specimens for adequacy and appropriateness.
• Labels specimens and prepares aliquots with precise patient identification.
• Receives and processes specimens to meet established turnaround-time goals.
• Assists with inquiries pertaining to specimen requirements, stability, and test turnaround times.
• Assists with phlebotomy and send-out specimen processing as needed.
• Supports the point-of-care team as needed.
• Maintains a clean working environment and sanitizes equipment.
