Job summary

PathAdvantage is seeking a Lab Accessioner/ Processor in Dallas, TX, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The role involves accessioning specimens, sorting and data entry in a fast-paced lab, ensuring specimen integrity and accurate results.

You will follow CAP and CLIA guidelines and support cytology processing as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with laboratory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• The Accessioning and Specimen Processing Technician requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Laboratory experience and interest in science and medicine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and handle gynecologic specimens.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective Laboratory section.
• Enter pertinent patient information and procedure names into the LIS system accurately.
• Process Cytology specimens while maintaining CLIA and CAP guidelines.
• Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure specimen integrity and accurate data entry.
• Follow lab safety practices when working with hazardous materials.
• Generate mid-day and closing lists for special testing specimens.
• Dispose of medical and chemical waste according to policy.
