Job summary

PharMerica is seeking a Pharmacy IV Technician in Grand Prairie, TX to join a non-retail team serving long-term care and senior living clients. Expect to work Monday–Friday evenings in a Class 100 cleanroom environment, with responsibilities spanning sterile compounding, patient prescriptions, QA and coordination with nursing homes.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• 6 months – 1 year of IV Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.
• Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile compounding room per USP 797 and state standards.
• Prepare long-term care prescriptions for residents and Alere patients per policies.
• Support QA processes, ensuring compliance with all documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and communication with nursing homes and Alere clients.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and calibrate infusion pumps and other sterile equipment for safety.
• Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits for long-term care facilities.
• Process shipping/tracking of Alere packages via couriers.
• Support inventory management, filing, answering phones, and stocking areas within the IV department.
• Collaborate with Lead IV Technician and Pharmacy Supervisor to maintain a safe, compliant workplace.
• Promptly report any operational or compliance concerns related to USP 797 standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacist, IV Supervisor, or Director of Pharmacy.
