Job summary

Lee Health HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL, seeks an experienced Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator (LC/ME) for a part-time role. The LC/ME conducts maternal, infant, and feeding assessments related to lactation and educates clients on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, and parenting.

The LC/ME collaborates with care teams, applies evidence-based practice, and supports informed decision making. IBCLC certification is required; childbirth education certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years obstetrical or neonatal nursing experience and/or lactation education experience.
• IBCLC certification is required; childbirth education certification preferred; BLS required.
• Florida RN license required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess maternal, infant, and feeding needs related to lactation.
• Provide education to clients on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, and parenting.
• Collaborate with care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Cover occasional evening classes as needed.
