Job summary

Massasoit Community College in Brockton seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach HVAC/R courses in the evening and weekend, with on-site and off-site options.

The role requires effective classroom management, ensuring safety in labs, and familiarity with CANVAS, BANNER, and college systems. Pool valid through June 30, 2027; compensation $1,512 per credit and pro-rated for mid-semester hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; associates acceptable with substantial HVAC experience.
• EPA 608, NAITA, HVAC Excellence, ASHRAE Certified HVAC Designer, OSHA, R-410A, and manufacturer certifications.
• At least three years teaching HVAC courses, preferably in a community college.

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver class objectives clearly.
• Maintain an orderly, controlled and safe environment in classrooms and labs.
• Ensure training aids, tools and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and lab.
• Supervise students and promote learning, participation, motivation and professionalism.
• Test, evaluate and communicate performance and progress with students and supervisors.
• Comfort with technology and online/hybrid model teaching.
• Meet and communicate with prospective partner companies as needed.
