Job summary

Island Nursing and Rehab Center in New York is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for 3:00pm - 11:00pm to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.

You will follow cleaning schedules, manage laundry and linen supplies, and apply infection control practices. Prior hospital or nursing home experience is preferred; ability to stand and walk for long periods is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia population and related behaviors.
• Understand written and oral instructions.
• Capable of following schedules and standing/walking for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Follow laundry/linen procedures and infection control practices.
• Operate and store cleaning equipment safely.
• Ensure adequate linen supply and distribute clean laundry to residents.
• Label clothing and sort soiled garments; perform day-to-day laundry.
• Attend in-service education and perform related duties.
