UPMC is hiring a Full-Time Security Officer (Evening Shift) in Carlisle to support the hospital and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. The role emphasizes customer service, vigilance, and collaboration with UPMC Police Officers when needed.

Preferred candidates have public safety experience and must achieve Act 235 certification if not already held. Weekend/holiday rotation is required, with a 2-year commitment for the sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and diffuse conflicts.
• Prior public safety or security experience is a plus.
• Must maintain fitness and be able to respond to emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Inspect parcels to prevent theft as needed.
• Respond to problems, disputes and unusual situations.
• Maintain required certifications and licensing.
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle support.
• Transport deceased to morgue and manage morgue releases.
• Monitor alarms and respond to incidents.
• Patrol hospital grounds to deter crime and document activities.
