Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant II to support patient rooms and hospital areas with thorough cleaning and sanitation. The role emphasizes safe handling of supplies, attention to detail, and adherence to hospital standards.

Shifts include evenings, 24 hours per week, with $21.50 per hour plus a $0.97 shift differential; union represented, non-exempt, eligible for overtime. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Sufficient to understand oral instructions.
• Sufficient knowledge of cleaning equipment, methods, and solutions.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums carpeted surfaces and damp mops hard surface floors.
• Cleans window sills, empties ash trays and waste baskets.
• Arranges furniture in patient rooms, baths, offices, waiting and other public areas as assigned.
• Cleans bathrooms, sinks, mirrors, toilets and replaces supplies as required.
• Strips unit upon discharge and prepares room for admission.
