Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant Specialist I to support Environmental Services. This is a full-time day shift position with a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, 40 hours per week, and union hourly compensation of $21.65.

The role covers cleaning operating rooms, patient rooms, offices and public areas, and requires following safety guidelines. High standards of cleanliness and the ability to understand oral instructions are essential; benefits begin the month after starting,

Qualifications

• Ability to understand oral instructions.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums carpeted surfaces, damp mops hard surface floors.
• Performs general and heavy cleaning duties in offices, patient rooms, and public areas.
• Cleans windowsills, waste baskets, and restroom surfaces.
• Operates cleaning machines and uses hospital approved chemicals.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and storage areas.
• Reports unsanitary or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
