Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires 1–2 years of diversified environmental service work experience in a health care or institutional setting.
• Working knowledge of operating typical industrial cleaning equipment and healthcare cleaning techniques.
• Basic math skills and effective written and oral communication are required.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Responds to cleaning requests and uses tracking systems to complete tasks and maintain logs.
• Performs cleaning in clinical areas, sterile spaces, and isolation rooms, following infection control standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and operation of department equipment and logs usage.
• Assess facility conditions to ensure a safe, neat, and orderly environment; escalate issues to supervision as needed.
• Provides leadership and training to less experienced associates in cleaning techniques and safety.
• Performs floor care tasks including mopping, stripping, refinishing, burnishing, and carpet extraction.
• Collaborates with staff and communicates status of repairs and service requests.
