Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque seeks an Environmental Supervisor to lead daily Environmental Services operations under the Director's guidance. You will manage staffing, training, and performance while upholding safety, sanitation, and compliance standards in a hospital environment.

The role emphasizes supervising housekeeping activities, ensuring quality, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a safe and clean facility. Evening shift with potential weekend coverage required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in environmental services/housekeeping with 1-2 years in leadership/supervisory role, hospital setting preferred.
• Formalized training in environmental cleaning programs and safety methodology preferred.
• Knowledge of proper and safe chemical use and handling.
• General working knowledge of computers and department software (HealthStream, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for the department to ensure teamwork and a safe work environment.
• Serve as a role-model for Environmental Services staff and resources for procedural matters.
• Supervise day-to-day activities and adjust staffing to workload changes.
• Oversee staff orientation, training, and disciplinary processes as needed.
• Arrange staffing schedules, monitor workload, and ensure efficient cleaning operations.
• Ensure equipment safety, cleanliness, and timely maintenance or repairs.
• Oversee supply needs and ordering; monitor meeting room setups.
• Conduct routine inspections and address deficiencies promptly.
