Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Accredited GED.
• Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor such as lifting garbage bags that weigh 50 pounds.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain boilers and major equipment.
• Supervise painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general mechanical areas.
• Replace broken windows.
• Assist general mechanics in remodeling and renovation work.
• Generally supervise and maintain the school grounds.
• Assist in snow removal.
• Supervise and participate in the general cleaning and maintenance of the school building.
• Requisitions and receives supplies and equipment and maintains inventories.
• Assumes responsibility for the general security of the building.
• Assumes responsibility for the general safety of the building.
• Makes building repairs that he/she is capable of.
• Reports immediately to the principal any damage of school property.
• Assumes responsibility for opening and closing of the building each school day and ensuring doors/windows are secured.
• Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel and requisitions replacements.
• Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair.
• Performs emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary.
• Completes all tasks in shortest possible time.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
