Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment in patient areas, hallways and public spaces. You will perform routine cleaning, manage waste, and ensure infection control standards are met.

The role involves use of cleaning equipment, PPE, and may include laundry duties; hours vary by location and may include evenings, nights and weekends, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, and using cleaning equipment.
• Keep storage, equipment and carts clean and organized; follow protective equipment guidelines.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology as needed.
• Work hours vary by location and may include overtime, nights, days, weekends and holidays.
