Job summary

DHR Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member for evening shifts at the Edinburg, TX campus. You will help maintain clean, sanitary hospital conditions, follow infection control practices and support patient care through a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices and public areas, using proper chemicals and equipment, and communicating effectively with staff, patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
• One to Six (1-6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
• Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
• Follows all infection control practices including hand hygiene techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
