Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center Observation team in Glendale, AZ. The role provides administrative support, facilitates communication between clinicians and departments, and supports patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers an evening shift (5 days per week, 8-hour shifts 2pm–10:30pm) with weekend/holiday rotation and shift differentials. Strong organizational and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred in hospital/clinic setting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the assigned patient care area.
• Facilitate communication between physicians, nurses, patients and departments.
• Handle admissions, room/bed records, and patient charting per policy.
• Assist with discharges and scheduling of procedures as needed.
• Maintain supplies and equipment inventories.
