Job summary

Lakeland Hills YMCA in Mountain Lakes, NJ is seeking energetic Group Exercise Instructors to teach Afternoon/Evening Classes. This part-time role emphasizes safe, engaging fitness experiences for members of all ages and abilities, aligned with YMCA values and a welcoming culture.

Instructors lead classes, adapt to participant needs, track attendance, and coordinate with supervisors. CPR/AED certification and current fitness credentials are required to ensure safe movement and quality sessions.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ISSA, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of fitness programming and ability to create effective workouts.
• Must be CPR/AED certified and trained in safe movement for injuries.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Engages participants, answers questions, and supports health goals.
• Maintains class attendance records and reports equipment issues.
• Adheres to YMCA policies, and promotes inclusive, welcoming environments.
