FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker in Chester Springs, PA to transport freight between docks and trailers. Starting pay is $23.46 per hour, with shift from 1700 to 2300.

The role includes operating forklifts and manual equipment, documenting freight, and assisting customers with freight paperwork. Reliable workers who can lift heavy loads, work independently or in a team, and comply with safety policies are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds lift, up to several times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsabilités

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope and other supplies.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
