Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a dock/warehouse associate for a 4-hour shift to transport freight to and from trailers and assist with loading and unloading. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 18+ years old. Prior warehousing or forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds and open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other equipment to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
