Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, Iowa is seeking a packer to efficiently pack finished frozen egg products in cases per customer specifications. The role involves filling omelets, monitoring quality, and preparing products for freezing while upholding strict safety and food quality standards.

The position operates on a 3 PM - 11 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with possible weekend overtime. Candidates should have 1–3 months of related experience, basic computer skills, and forklift

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate level of computer/technological skills.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean, if necessary, all equipment including ovens, depositors, pumps and packaging machines prior to the scheduled start time to ensure on time start-ups.
• Perform quality checks on product being produced and record information to ensure customer and company specifications are met.
• Monitor spiral freezer operations; check for ice buildup and take action to maximize quality and production run length.
• Perform sanitation duties as required to get the system back up and running within a set time.
• Troubleshoot equipment that is not running effectively.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and report conditions affecting food safety or quality.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
