Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Flow Cytometry Technologist to perform a full range of lab tests from routine blood work to high-complexity assays using 10 color flow cytometry. You will confirm results, report findings to Pathologists and clinicians, and support accuracy and quality while adhering to SOPs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a Life Science, 1–3 years of related experience, and familiarity with computer systems including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Immunology or other Life Science discipline required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Must possess analytical abilities to perform high, moderate, and waived complexity test procedures with accuracy and understand their relevance to patient conditions.
• Must be able to achieve expected turn around time for reporting patient test results and manage stress in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Follows SOPs for all specimen handling and testing, meeting turn around time expectations.
• Writes and maintains technical SOPs under supervision of leadership and Pathologist.
• Performs start-up, maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments per lab protocols; performs QC and data entry.
• Participates in proficiency testing, assay validation and R&D studies; works with team on quality issues.
