Job summary

Goodwill of North Georgia is seeking a Floor Technician to help maintain clean, safe floors at the CDC Chamblee location and perform daily restorative cleaning with various cleaning equipment.

You will remove wax buildup, scrub and refinish floors, wash walls, and assist with carpet care. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and adherence to safety policies. Competitive benefits and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge or experience in floor care and/or related field desired.
• Available for shift work.
• Ability to maintain a positive demeanor while engaged in repetitive tasks.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor and other workers.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more routinely.

Responsibilities

• Remove wax build-up from baseboard, corners and edges of floors.
• Strip or scrub and refinish appropriate floor surfaces.
• Scrub ceramic floor tile areas.
• Wash walls with detergent germicide or neutral cleaner.
• Remove spots from carpet and/or upholstery.
• Extract dirt from carpet and/or upholstery.
• Dust mop, damp mop and burnish appropriate floor surfaces.
• Notify supervisor or lead custodian of equipment needing repair and/or replacement.
• Follow all work procedures and standards according to the quality management system.
• Police all areas in addition to common areas.
