JSR Truck Repair in Rosemount, MN is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Lead Technician (Diesel & Gas) to lead evening operations. This hands-on role blends senior diagnostics with leadership duties, coordinating parts, timelines, and communications across a busy shop.

You will mentor mechanics, prioritize work, perform repairs, and ensure high-quality service for a mixed fleet of diesel and gas vehicles. Strong organizational and safety-minded leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional automotive and/or diesel repair experience.
• Experience with medium-duty trucks, gas and diesel vehicles, fleets, and commercial equipment.
• Advanced mechanical/electrical diagnostics and problem-solving ability.
• Strong prioritizing, delegating, and driving efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills; dependable, organized, and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and route work orders; assign jobs and oversee execution.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns using scan tools and software.
• Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and final quality checks/road tests.
• Coach and assist mechanics on complex troubleshooting.
• Evaluate vehicles and outline current and future repair recommendations.
• Order parts, track availability, and manage vendor communications.
• Update customers and ownership on repair status, recommendations, and timelines.
• Ensure inspections are complete and critical systems are safe.
• Maintain a safe, organized shop and keep tools/equipment service-ready.
