Job summary

Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA seeks an Afternoon Maintenance Technician to support facilities with a 1:00 PM–9:30 PM schedule, Monday through Friday. You will perform skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance across BB&N locations.

The role requires 3–5 years in building trades, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety standards. BB&N offers competitive pay, benefits, and a collaborative campus environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive for BB&N.
• Knowledge of building trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting.
• Basic understanding of electrical and HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire, and life safety standards.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with BB&N email, the computerized work order system, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain buildings and structures, complete maintenance requests, and install/repair ceilings, floors, doors, and other items.
• Perform minor electrical repairs such as switches, outlets, bulbs, and ballasts.
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance including unclogging drains and leaks repairs.
• Perform minor HVAC maintenance including changing filters and inspections.
• Operate light automotive equipment to travel to facilities and transport materials.
• Assist with trash, recycling and snow removal as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and follow supervisor directions.
