Job summary

The Washington Ballet in Washington, DC is seeking a Facilities Associate to maintain a clean, safe environment for students, artists, faculty, staff, and visitors. This part-time position works primarily during evening hours to support classes, rehearsals, and organizational operations.

Qualifications

• Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Dependable with a strong attendance record.
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff, students, artists, and visitors.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dance studios, classrooms, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste.
• Restock restroom and custodial supplies.
• Clean windows, mirrors, doors, and other glass surfaces.
• Set up and break down rooms for classes, rehearsals, meetings, and special events as needed.
• Report maintenance, repair, or safety concerns to management.
• Follow all organizational safety procedures and cleaning protocols.
• Perform periodic deep-cleaning and special projects as assigned.
