Job Description

This is an entry level position that attends to housekeeping needsand assures a clean, sanitary and safe environment in theresidential halls where residents can live and learn and in otherassigned areas in Student Affairs. Responsible for maintainingestablished standards of cleanliness and sanitation includingstudent lounges, offices, lobbies, stairs, rest rooms, showers,windows, and other interior space. Duties include floormaintenance, dusting, gathering and removal of trash, snow and iceremoval from entranceways and sidewalks, raking leaves andgathering trash from areas near buildings and replenishingsupplies. Operates powered and manual cleaning equipment. Reportsneeded equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusualhousekeeping situations. Responsible for the care and handling ofhousekeeping supplies, equipment, and assigned keys. Willingness tolearn housekeeping procedures and ability to be trained to usehousekeeping equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills forinteraction with employees, students, and visitors at a largeuniversity campus.
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial cleaning methods.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning of institutional, domestic, or commercialareas preferred.
• Safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manualcleaning equipment.

Additional Information

Second shift and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and asneeded for good customer service. Shifts will be from 3:30pm -12:30am.
