We’re searching for a Housekeeping Worker to join the StudentEngagement and Campus Life (SECL) team in Blacksburg, VA to help usin our mission. This position attends to Custodial Operation needsby ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in the SECLfacilities. In addition, it maintains established standards ofcleanliness and sanitation in student lounges, offices, lobbies,stairs, restrooms, showers, windows, and other venues as assigned.The duties include floor maintenance, dusting, gathering andremoving trash, snow and ice removal from entranceways andsidewalks, raking leaves, and gathering trash from areas nearbuildings. 1) You’ll join the Student Engagement and Campus Life (SECL) team:a department centered on uplifting the student experience by cultivating affirming environments, promoting holistic well-being,and providing exceptional services, programs, and facilities.
2) You’ll report to the Housekeeping Supervisor. This is a regular,full-time, 100% staff appointment.
3) You’ll be primarily responsible for maintaining and replenishingsupplies in assigned areas and reporting any facility repairs orneeds to management. You’ll operate powered and manual cleaningequipment; mix chemicals with proper proportions from establishedguidelines; and be responsible for caring for and handlingCustodial Operations supplies, equipment, and assigned keys.Occasionally supports Event Operations Staff in preparing eventsscheduled in reservable spaces in SECL facilities.
