Job summary

Staples Promotional Products, a division of Staples, is seeking a dependable custodian to maintain a clean and safe facility in Iowa. You will perform cleaning tasks, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and light maintenance on a 2nd shift schedule.

The role offers $20.50 per hour with a $1.50 second shift premium. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and prior custodial experience, with the ability to lift up to 15 pounds, stand and move during shifts, and communicate in basic

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify cleaning, safety, and maintenance needs.
• Ability to work independently, manage routine tasks, and adapt to changing facility priorities.
• Safety-focused mindset and commitment to following cleaning and building procedures.
• Basic English language skills for verbal and written communications.
• Experience in general cleaning or custodial work preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough facility cleaning, including vacuuming, buffing floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing debris.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners to keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies.
• Support routine facility maintenance, including tending the furnace and boiler as assigned and notifying management when repairs are needed.
• Clear snow or debris from sidewalks as needed.
• Help maintain building security by locking doors after hours and ensuring safe use of electrical appliances.
