Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper II to join the Environmental Services team onsite in the greater Chicagoland area. You will provide a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff across inpatient and outpatient areas.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift 50 lbs, follow written and oral instructions, and perform 10-step cleaning, furniture moves, blinds/drapes work, floor care, waste handling, and operating carpet equipment on

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend to floor and reach above head.

Responsibilities

• Perform 10-step general cleaning in care areas (Inpatient & Outpatient).
• Move furniture including beds.
• Take down blinds, curtains, drapes and rehangs.
• Wash walls and ceilings.
• Complete EVS projects and other duties as assigned.
• Perform floor stripping, refinishing, burnishing and spray buffing.
• Vacuum carpets and shampoo with carpet equipment.
• Collect general waste and recycling and transport for disposal.
• Collect biohazardous waste and transport to pickup point.
• Operate floor care equipment and battery-powered machines.
• Work from ladders/scaffolding and extension platforms.
