Job summary

Hudson Public Schools is seeking an on-call substitute ESOL teacher for the Hudson Adult Learning Center in Hudson, Massachusetts. The role involves delivering ESOL lessons in the evening, following the regular teacher’s plans, and possibly teaching via Zoom if needed.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated experience with English Language Learners; DESE licensure or TESOL is preferred, and CORI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with English Language Learners (ELLs) in an educational setting.
• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching credentials/licensure preferred as applicable.
• DESE licensure or TESOL certification preferred.
• Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
• Assign homework according to the teacher’s lesson plans.
• Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
• Take attendance and document daily notes.
• Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly.
• Uphold an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience.
• Conduct instruction remotely via Zoom, if needed.
