Job summary

Chattahoochee Technical College is seeking a part-time Adult Education ESL Instructor for the Canton Campus. The position involves teaching English as a Second Language to adult learners, with evening hours from 3:15pm to 8:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Under supervision, the instructor will prepare lesson plans aligned with ESL standards, monitor progress, maintain records, and ensure a secure classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree required in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Teaching and classroom management experience in a classroom environment at the secondary or post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL using TABE Clas-E tests and deliver instruction in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials for classroom use.
• Instruct students with special needs by adapting materials to accommodate needs.
• Provide learner guidance, orient students, and evaluate progress toward goals.
• Contact absentees and monitor class attendance; promote lifelong learning and work ethic.
• Evaluate progress and report results to appropriate personnel; maintain confidentiality.
