Job summary

MedVet in Campbell, CA seeks an Emergency Veterinary Technician for evening shifts. The role involves monitoring, patient assessment, anesthesia, and client education in a fast-paced ER environment. You will collaborate with the care team to prioritize cases and ensure high-quality care for hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• RVT license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in drug calculations and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
