Job summary

MedVet, a leading provider of emergency and specialty veterinary care, seeks an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team in California. This role involves providing high-quality care in a dynamic environment, managing emergency situations with skill and expertise.

We offer competitive hourly pay ranging from $28.25 to $44.00 based on experience and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, 401k match, and more.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs and unit conversions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds and discuss cases.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans.
• Provide client education on medications and general wellness.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment and treatments.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples.
