Positions and Salary

• NDDOT Equipment Operator II: $4,840/month
• NDDOT Equipment Operator I: $4,289/month
• Training position (Equipment Operator in Training): $4,075/month

Winter hours for this role are 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. from November through April, with a weekly shift differential of $2.00/hour.

Job Summary

As an Equipment Operator, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including operating heavy machinery for snow removal, installing and repairing signs and guardrails, and keeping roadways hazard-free. You will also conduct building and ground maintenance, routine vehicle repairs, and paperwork documentation. Training and supervision will be provided for construction duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Equipment Operator II: Valid North Dakota Class A driver license, cargo tank endorsement, two years relevant experience or one year plus winter operations experience.
• Equipment Operator I: Valid North Dakota Class B driver license.
• Training position: Valid North Dakota Class A permit without restrictions, with 12 months to obtain a full license.

This role requires availability within 30 minutes for emergency work, including after hours, weekends, and holidays. Employment is contingent on background checks, drug screening, medical exam, and other standard procedures.
