Job summary

Sanford Health Bemidji is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The role covers evenings (4pm/5pm starts) with potential holiday and weekend work, totaling 40 hours weekly.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and common areas, emptying waste, sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, and using cleaning equipment. No formal education is required; union position with standard hospital housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required.
• Must fulfill the annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-services.
• Employee must have knowledge in general day-to-day housekeeping tasks in each of the various departments/areas of the facility while following cleaning policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors with brooms, mops, or powered machines.
• Wear protective equipment as required and keep storage, equipment and carts clean and tidy; assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Locations may include patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
