Penn Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services Staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to maintain sanitation and support the Interventional Support Center area. This 1.0 FTE position requires evening hours (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM) at 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA, within the Central Fill Specialty Pharmacy department.

The role emphasizes PPE, infection control practices, cleaning, waste disposal, and floor care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Environmental Sanitation
• Dons appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Prepares cleaning solution according to written standards
• Cleans equipment and maintains floor stock
• Pulls all trash & soiled linen and replace bags
• Properly disposes of infectious waste or linen
• Picks up mats and cleans floors underneath
• Cleans and shines sinks
• Checks zone for equipment and returns to proper location
• Dust mops / wet mops / auto scrub floors
• Burnish floors / strip and wax as scheduled
• Cleans bathrooms in facility
• Replenishes paper products, soap and hand sanitizer
• Checks and refills hand sanitizer dispensers
• Completes high and low dusting
• Reports work-related injuries
• Performs periodic projects and cycle cleaning duties
• Demonstrates safe body mechanics
• Performs other duties as assigned
